Licensing FAQ’s

  • We cover most "news-worthy" incidents, such as structure fires, vehicle fires, major accidents, shootings, and much more. In some cases you may see us on the scene of minor incidents, however this is likely just to capture pictures/video for our social media profiles.

  • Licensing fees for breaking news footage can range due to several factors, including incident types, amount of footage available, location, and more. These fees are visible to networks the same time footage is made available. For more information, contact us.

  • Incident footage is made available within 1-2 hours, depending on the incident type, and time of incident. Some incidents may be available sooner.

  • Footage/Photos

    • All footage (both RAW and “broadcast ready”, minus file formatting). These video files are typically in mp4 formats.

    • All scene photos.

    Logs & Notes

We include all data tracked by our Incident Tracking System (ITS), which includes

    • Incident dispatch time (if available).

    • List of departments involved.

    • All notes entered by our reporters.

Police/Fire Scanner Dispatch Recordings (If available)

These recordings are saved in mp3 formats. Not available for all incidents.

  • Agreements can be made on a case-by-case basis, but we allow two primary billing options:

    Pay by Account Balance

Networks can “top off” their account balance, which is charged anytime a story is downloaded.

    Pay by Invoice

This options allows networks immediate access to footage. All downloaded footage is added to an invoice, which is sent to the billing email address on file at the end of the month. This option is only available to verified networks, please contact us.

  • Licensing covers broadcast and online streaming rights. This allows networks to use the footage on TV, or on their websites.

  • All footage is branded with a small, transparent “VIA MWIPT” watermark at the top right corner of each video. For watermark removal, please contact us.
