MWIPT

Coming soon to Bloomington (IN) and Columbus.

MWIPT is a team of independent incident photographers operating within select cities in the midwest. We use modern technology and custom software to accurately and efficiently track and capture major incidents in our coverage areas. All captured media (video and images) are made available to local news stations within minutes.

Some of our most newsworthy incidents are featured on our social media profiles, including Instagram, and YouTube. LIVE updates may be posted on our Twitter.

  • This is up to the Photographer/Reporter. For every incident/event, we capture footage of major incidents, and make that content available to the media for use on-air. Some reporters/photographers may decide to write stories and submit them to be published on this website.

  • Our group consists of volunteer and part-time photographers. We do not have any full-time photographers active, however this is an option we'd like to explore in the future.

  • We cover most "news-worthy" incidents, such as structure fires, vehicle fires, major accidents, shootings, and much more. In some cases you may see us on the scene of minor incidents, however this is likely just to capture pictures/video for our social media profiles.

  • If you are interested in helping out in one of our coverage areas, we encourage you to contact us. Fill out the form on our contact us page and we'll direct your request to the appropriate leadership.

  • Licensing fees for breaking news footage can range due to several factors, including incident types, amount of footage available, location, and more. These fees are visible to networks the same time footage is made available. For more information, contact us.

  • Incident footage is made available within 1-2 hours, depending on the incident type, and time of incident. Some incidents may be available sooner.

  • We generally only distribute to news stations and public safety agencies.
For time-sensitive requests, you can call our media hotline @ (463) 213-3354.
